Kangaroo Valley Solitude

April 26th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Last week I traveled to the magnificent Kangaroo Valley to visit a B&B called Barrangary Accommodation and B&B. It’s the brainstorm of Bary, Gay and son Andrew Faulks. Kangaroo Valley is 2 hours south of Sydney on the Princes HWY, or 2 hours from Campbelltown down the Hume and into the Southern Highlands.

Barry and his business partner Glen Roulstone are award winning builders in Nowra and just happen to be my builders for my child care centre in Nowra and has a very good reputation throughout the Shoalhaven Shire for award winning constructions. They make a great team and do an excellent job. Roulstone and Faulks Builders - if you’re looking for top builders give them a call!

Barry was born in this delightful heritage home in Kangaroo Valley nestled in the lush pastures of the valley and saw the opportunity to give tourists to the Beautiful Kangaroo Valley a feel for how it really was to live in the old days. There are two reconstructed timber cottages on the 6 acre property and the main homestead, all reconstructed in 1980’s style living. Oh my God you must see them to apreciate it, its just wonderful.

The cabins have all the artifacts of the old days, the old style kitchen, living rooms and bedrooms, the old plough out the front door and buggy which used to take the family to town. All immaculately designed to make you think you are living a piece of history.

And the views from the timber verandahs take your breath away, looking over the lush paddocks into the magnificent Kangaroo Valley ranges, the belted gallaway cattle grazing, the wildlife and bird life and just a feeling of total relaxation and serenity.

Just smell the fesh mountain air and marvel over the beauty here, there is nothing like it. How clever these people are to keep this property so appealing and manacured. It’s so popular you will need to book in advance, I believe the real estate agent who looks after the property is called Lindy Ross Real Estate Kangaroo Valley. Give her a call. She’s a lovely lady who will galdly help you out with all the info you need.

And the other advantage of the location of the cottages is its close to the herritage town and pubs, clubs and the very popular Hampton Bridge, shoalhaven river and a host of restaurants and gift stores. This is where you go to relax and regroup. It’s intimate and suits couples or singles looking for that unique holiday or weekend away. Not for the kids, it’s just too relaxed and caters for you to have a break.

Oh yes and if you are into canoeing you can raft down the beautiful Kangaroo valley river and the Sholhaven River. You won’t believe the experience, it’s devine!

See you on my next adventure.

Proposed Child Care Centre Nowra - Arwon’s Little Angels

April 20th, 2008

Well the last few weeks I have been running around every where from the beautiful Nelson Bay to Nowra where I am building a 46 place child care centre to be named Arwon’s Little Angels. It’s our original old homes (2 houses, side by side) my brother and sister and I were born in and an inspiration from my little Grandson who one day declared because I was so good to kids and animals I should turn my old homes into a child care place. It was at that very moment I decided to take his advice and run with  that thought, so many months on and approvals from the local council and a lot of hard work and worries we are now on the way, and it’s looking just great. I will keep you informed on progress. It’s for kids 2-6 years and opens 7am to 6pm.

If you have little ones who you want the very best in long day care then give my supervisor Kylie a ring on 0450 041 404. She’s taking names for future bookings. DOCS don’t give us the licence until the final building certificate so at this stage it’s a proposed child care centre opening soon, around the end of May, and it will be the best centre you will see anywhere!

Incidentally, my builders are Roulstone and Faulks. I grew up with Glen Roulstone and it’s fitting he would be the one to build the centre given the ties we have from our childhood. Gee my Mum and Dad would have been proud to see this all unfold!

Soaking Up the Sun in Cronulla

March 7th, 2008

Well here I am in beautiful Cronulla on the water soaking up the sun and looking into one of my favourite listings - the Cronulla Arts and Framing in Surf Street. Now if your looking for a good buy this is it. The owners need a medal for designing this lovely store and its arts and craft lover’s haven. Ring me if you are looking for a laid back business with absolutely no hard work in a top spot.

Cronulla beachWish I had the time to take a dip in the beautiful waves on Cronulla Beach. No, I am off to Nowra, my home town, to inspect a child care centre and tackle a buyer through another top listing Spanline South Coast. Look all my listings up, they are all good and I love meeting my buyers at all of them.

Then home I go another 4 hour drive over the beautiful Kangaroo Valley near Nowra and home across the ranges to Tumut where all the animals are waiting for me.

On the Road to Gloucester NSW

February 26th, 2008

Boy have I been busy lately. I had the pleasure of taking a buyer to inspect a business in Stratford. It’s a lovely little town on the old highway to Gloucester NSW, only one hour from Newcastle and a short drive to Foster and Nelson Bay, around 2 hours from Sydney north.

What a beautiful drive. All the paddocks are full of lush grazing and the livestock look amazing. We inspected a great little listing  - the Stratford Store. It’s a convenience store with Volume Plus petrol and the best part is it has a great little heritage home next to it that the owners are converting into accommodation, or maybe a bottle shop.

Any way while we were there a team of bikers arrived, muddy and exhausted after their long ride. There were so many, around 100 a least! The whole shop had to go into rush mode and I was re-arranging the furniture to accommodate them. It’s so  beautiful along that road and only 10 minutes to Gloucester from the store. If you are interested in this business please give me a call on 0405 247 400. It’s priced to sell at $495,000 including the freehold. What a buy!

Deli Nalson BayThen I drove on to my favourite spot, Nelson Bay, and listed a little deli I sold 4 years ago called Incredible Edible and a terrific gift store across the road called Good Mates.

What great listings! If you are looking for the best money can buy in an absolutely delightful spot right on the water, these two investments are not to be overlooked.

After a few drinks at the local pub around the corner with my good friends Peter and Gabby from  Incredible Edible I dropped into my motel and slept like a baby. I did around 15 hours on the road that day, but the scenery and the fun I had catching up with my buyers and vendors made it all worth while. Off to Sydney now!

Central Coast NSW - Top Restaurant & Coffee Lounge

February 11th, 2008

Soon I am off to the Central Coast, only one hour North of Sydney’s CBD. I am listing a restaurant, coffee lounge and catering business located in the Gosford area. What a delightful area, as I drive in I can hear the beautiful bell birds in the trees. It’s a leafy little suburb very close to the sea and a short drive to major shopping centres.

Restaurant Coffee Lounge Central CoastBut you don’t need to go to any other shopping centres today because this business is located in a large shopping open air complex, and what a great listing it is! The owners here are a bit tired, love their job but need a break to get to know the kids and holiday around the countryside. The business has a great outlook, seating outside taking in the warm friendly atmosphere and the great bird life.

Sydney people just love the Central Coast because just like the South Coast its just few short hours to the beautiful beaches, restaurants and a quieter relaxed living. The Central Coast stretches as far as Nelson Bay. Now that’s a great destination. I have just sold my last business there, an ice creamery shop, great little listing,  and I believe the Canadian couple that purchased it are loving it. I have sold over 8 businesses there. I will tell you more about Nelson Bay next time. I’m up there soon for another listing and a sale on another business. Bye for now and have fun!
